Park & Public Lands Advocacy Day

Every year, Park & Public Lands Advocacy Day brings together passionate park supporters from across New York to meet with lawmakers in Albany and make a strong, united case for investing in our state parks, historic sites, and public lands. This day of action gives your voice the power to shape policy, funding, and the future of our shared outdoor spaces.

We’re thrilled to announce that Park Advocacy Day has expanded to Park & Public Lands Advocacy Day this year to include more partners, stakeholders, and user-groups to join us in our annual effort to engage directly with policymakers in Albany. It is shaping up to be an unforgettable event, and we want you to be a part of it!

Park & Public Lands Advocacy Day 2026 (formerly Pak Advocacy Day)

There are many reasons to grab your green scarf and join Parks & Trails New York and the Open Space Institute in the halls of the New York State Capitol on February 25th this year:

  • 2026 marks 20 YEARS of Park Advocacy Day. That's two full decades of park advocates gathering at the NYS capitol to speak on the value of our public lands to our state's decision makers.
  • We are celebrating 10 years of the Park and Trail Partnership Grant Program--a huge accomplishment of our collective advocacy work over the past decade as we grew the program from $500,000 to $2.5 million (and beyond!)
  • Join the growing coalition of all public land champions as we expand from Park Advocacy Day to Park & Public Lands Advocacy Day.

I hope we've convinced you! Sign up today at the link below and join us on Wednesday, February 25th at the Empire State Plaza in Albany at 9AM.

Full agenda and website will be available on PTNY's website at https://www.ptny.org/park-public-lands-advocacy-day/.
