Subject :FAQ: Can funds from a Professional Development grant be applied to another position?
Let's say a staff member hired by a professional development grant gave their notice after 6 months on the job, or the funded employee requests a leave of absence with only 2 months remaining in the grant period. Could the funds awarded from a professional development grant be applied towards an existing staff member to perform their duties during either the hiring process or the leave period? Answer: No. Positions funded by professional development grants are permanent positions. Should circumstances occur during the 2-year funding period resulting in a pause of salary payments, a request to extend the grant period beyond the 2 years can be submitted. Upon approval, the grant period will be lengthened to accommodate the remaining balance of grant funds. |
